2010 Sunkist Series #4 Outside Course

Sailing on Super Sunday is usually a tough sell to racers who want to make sure they see the football game and all the cool commercials. However, the Balboa Yacht Club made sure there was plenty of wind for a fast race course so racers could make the game on time!
Racers enjoyed 10-14 knots of wind to get out of the harbor, beat to the windward buoys and the slide back to the harbor entrance. It was perfect wind with a perfect race course.
I sailed on the J-105 LEGACY which sailed with the "harbor killer" genoa out of the harbor. Major secret weapon! It is a 155% light weight "CZ" genoa with a loose luff! Very versatile and powerful for downwind and reaching conditions and easy to get rid of when the carbon or kevlar headsail is unfurled for upwind work!
