Ullman Sails Offshore Series #2 "he Border Run Results

The  2011 Ullman Sails Offshore Series in full swing after completion of the second race: The Border Run.  In its second year of existence, the Ullman Offshore Series grew by one event when Randy Reynolds of XSRacing.org approached us to be part of one of the fastest growing events in the USA.  We immediately jumped at the chance to be involved and were pleased to add the race to our offshore schedule.

We implemented the Border Run's motto of "inclusion" and moved to create more classes for the Offshore Series.  We award first overall and corrected, as well as subcategories depending on boat size only:  20+, 30+, etc.  And in keeping with our own criteria – all our races start and end in different harbors and include rounding an island – only the Border Run’s long course qualified for our Offshore Series.  The long course covered 91nm, with competitors starting off the Balboa Pier in Newport Beach, CA, sailing to the Coronado Islands, leaving the small island (Coronado del Norte) to Port and finishing in San Diego.
