ABYC Boxing Day Regatta and the New Year

Photo by Rich Roberts / photo boat captain Mike Baumann

Sunday, December 30th was ABYC Boxing Day Regatta in Southern California. The Boxing Day Regatta is a pursuit start where boats of all sizes race together on the same course. The slowest boat starts first and the fastest boat starts last. Despite cooler temperatures and an occasional drizzle from time to time, 35 boats ranging from an 8 foot sabot to a 34’ J-109 finished the race.

The top 5 boats we made up of 2 Cal 20s, a Lido 14, a Sabot, and a Pyramid 660 that came all the way down from Ventura. These boats are all very different but nonetheless shared one important factor. ULLMAN SAILS.

Happy New Year from Ullman Sails. Please contact us to “rejuvenate” your boats speed for 2013.
