2015 Transpac | Ullman Sails Preview

The 2015 Transpac is right around the corner and the weather routers are spinning their wheels as the tropics reek havoc in the Pacific Ocean.  The instability in the weather is creating a lot of talk and this could be a truly interesting Transpac.

Ulllman Sails Newport Beach has been working around the clock to prepare our excited customers for the trip.

Bruce Cooper is on board the TP-52 Destroyer.  The Mexican based boat is a family affair and this is their first Transpac.  Bruce is excited to be part of the team and we are in the process  of finishing up a laminate Code 3A for their squall sailing!  Follow Destroyer on FaceBook.

Ullman guru Erik Shampain is on board the J-125 "Resolute" and they are going double handed!  This iron man team are doing the race double handed for the third time!

Ullman Sails team member Keith Magnussen is on board the J-125 "Timeshaver" as he continues to campaign with Viggo Torbensen (Owner) in the many offshore races that take place on the West Coast.  Keith has been working with Viggo for 5 years now and they have a 100% Ullman Sails inventory that is tailored around offshore racing.  Follow Timeshaver on Ullman Sails FaceBook and Sailing Anarchy where Keith will be blogging from the race course!

A staple in the Transpac is the SC-50 "Horizon."  Now under the ownership of John Shulze, Howizon is under the direction of legend John "Hippie" Shapmain.  They are looking to win their class again and push towards the elusive overall win.  Horizon has a fantastic Ullman Inventory.

New to the Transpac and offshore racing is Steve Ginder.  Steve has outfitted his boat with Ullman racing sails and spared no expense as he prepared his Jeannea 45.2 "Exit Strategy" to win the Aloha division which starts Monday.  Keith Magnussen has been training and coaching the team for the past year and into the build up.  Steve is hoping for a safe and fast ride!
