ULLMAN SAILS FINISH 3RD & 4TH IN ANNAPOLIS

late wrap up from Annnapolis

11/3/2008

Over the weekend, Ullman Sails customers battled a tough fleet of world-class competitors to take 3rd and 4th overall at the Melges 24 North American Championships in Annapolis. Flavio Favini and his team on the Swiss boat “BluMoon” finished third in the four-day event, holding strong despite a DNF in the seventh race. And Dave Ullman and crew on “USA 505” secured fourth place with a bullet in the final race of the regatta, battling back from an OCS in the middle of the event. The “USA 505” team included Max Skelley (Ullman Skelley Sails), Pablo Soldano (Ullman Sails Iseo), Andy Estcourt and Jorge Hernandez.

The new 2008 Melges 24 North American Champions are the team of Terry Hutchinson, Scott Nixon, Brian Janney, George Peet and Amy Ironmonger.

The fleet faced a range of conditions, starting with big breeze and frigid temperatures and finishing with sunny skies and light, shifty breeze.
