Some wind, some clouds, some sun, some cold weather and some boats gets you some great racing. That was the recipe for Balboa Yacht Club’s Saturday inside small boat course. The racers were excited about the chance of good wind that eluded racers during the first two Sunkist Series. But, heavy on the racers and sailing community mind was the news of local and national hero and Para-Olympic Gold Medalist Nick Scadone who lost his battle with ALS on Friday morning. Nick’s Sabot was available as a”boat bouquet” at BYC for people to bring flowers in his memory.
