Ullman Sails Claim Seven Classes at San Diego NOOD!

In a mixed bag of conditions with little or too much wind, Ullman Sails customers were on deck for anything and won seven of the one design classes at the 2011 Sperry Top-Sider San Diego NOOD, March 18-20, 2011.

In the Viper 640 Class, Ullman Sails Seattle’s Chris Winnard with crew Ryan Lorence and Ben Amen dominated the 13-boat fleet.  Winnard’s Viper “Disaster Area” won seven of the ten races and didn’t have to sail the last race.  Consistent starts, excellent crew work and fast sails made this a formidable team. Ullman Sails customer Tim Carter also had a solid performance, finishing third overall after strong sailing in the breeze on Sunday.

In the Catalina 36 class, Dave Flint's "Isle Run" took first in class, which also earned him the 2011 Southern California Championship.  The Catalina 36 class raced Saturday and Sunday only, just in time for the big breeze Sunday.
