Ullman Sails perform at PHRF Championships

The 2011 PHRF Championships were held this past weekend in Long Beach California and hosted by Seal Beach Yacht Club.  33 boats came for the weekend and the great turnout led into great racing.  Ullman was well represented throughout the fleets with Erik Shampain on the Flying Tiger Mile High Klub, Keith Magnussen on the Farr 40 Temptress and Brian Dair on the J-120 Shenanigans.

Temptress sailed out to an early lead on Saturday winning both races in PHRF A1.  Mile High Klub had a strong first race and then some mechanical issues turned the second race into a little bit of a fight.  Mike Difede brought his little sport-boat Blitz up from Dana Point and was staying consistent in PHRF B with his full Ullman inventory.

Sunday was more of the same with light air dominating the day.  The wind was really left and it was important to stay in the pressure.  Temptress got off to a bad start in the first race and had to really recover for the final push in race four.  A sail change to the 2S at the start proved effective and a second place was good enough for the overall victory.

Mile High Klub battled back with two bullets but was not enough to overhaul the winners on Shenanigans.

Blitz kept consistent and pulled out a third in their competitive class of seven boats.
